Never The Bride by Cheryl McKay & Rene Gutteridge

Jessie Stone was stuck in a rut.  She had always envisioned her wedding day down to every last detail.  The only problem was - there still wasn't a groom!   The man she thought she would marry -- cheated on her and her long-time crush only knew her has a best friend.  Jessie is pretty sure her life is a dead end until one day, God (looking suspiciously like a middle age hottie) walks right up to her and helps her find the true path to happiness.  He encourages her to take a risk - and change her life!

In the spirit of "Bruce Almighty" this novel is giggle invoking as well as thought provoking.  While Jesse's friends think she is losing her mind (she walks around talking OUT LOUD to God and only she can see Him!), Jessie begins to wonder if this isn't a reincarnation of her 9-year-old Imaginary Friend (prompting her to visit her childhood therapist).  Either way, God takes Jessie on a whirlwind adventure, encouraging her to discover and multiply her talents, how to feel God's love and He helps her find true love along the way.
