Strawberry Picking at Miller's Berry Farm

We are in full-swing summer mode here at our house...  Our school year didn't really have an abrupt ending, it just kind of trickled and then stopped.  But, that's ok!  We were ready to move on to summery-things and so we did!

We headed out last week for a first-time adventure of Strawberry Picking!  We heard great things about Miller's Berry Farm out on Hwy KK here in Marshfield and decided to give it a go.  We are glad we did!  In less than 15 minutes of picking we ended up with over 8 pounds of Strawberries!

They were really nice, organized and helpful.
An older gentleman took us out and gave us a row to get started on...

They taught us what a truly ripe strawberry looks like, so we knew which ones to pick.  They also showed us how to pick them so each berry we ended up with wouldn't rot and what stayed behind could grow again...

When we were done, they asked us to put out flags where we left off so that other families could come and pick after us and not waste their time picking in an area that we had already picked clean...

There is is!  All 8 pounds of ripe deliciousness!
