Kayley's Play Date

Today we had our first play date! Kayley's friend Tate (or "Tape" as she calls him) came over to spend a couple of hours. The kids had a blast, running around in circles squealing.... Tate loves to hug on Kayley and she kept telling him No! It's so cute...

They had a great time...we'll definitely have to have Tate over again soon!

Happy Birthday Kayley #2 !!!!

Here are some pics from Kayley's Special Day. We can't believe our baby just turned 2! We celebrated by taking Kayley to one of her favorite places for breakfast. Chick-fil-A! Here is Kayley playing with a couple of hashbrowns.

She loves to play in the playground...she takes off her shoes and puts them in a cubby.



Then she climbs through all the tunnels....


And looks out all the windows.....


She likes to go down the slide...and she LOVES to try to go UP the slide...

I know these things have a weight limit...I'm just not sure what it is. =)


I tend to get stuck in some of the tubes...but I eventually made it down...

We stopped to take a quick phone call. To whomever sang Happy Birthday to Kayley during this phone call...It was on speaker... I think everyone in the playground heard it. Tee hee.

Poor Sick Baby

We had our first illness last weekend. Kayley was so cranky last Sunday morning and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was wrong...then she just looked at me and went "Blaaah!"
She barfed on me!
Anyway, I made a little bed for her on the couch and that is where she hung out all day. I think we watched Elmo's Adventures in Grouchland about 4 times that day. Thankfully, she was fine on Monday morning...I never did figure out what was upsetting her tummy.

Funny thing...

Oh...and I wanted to mention this funny thing Kayley did to me today. We were laying on the couch and we were talking about the parts of our face...she can point out eyes, ears, etc... All of a sudden she shoved her finger up my nose and said, "Nostril!!"
You are so smart! Now get your finger out of my nose....Ick!

Some things this week...

So, we found a cute little dolly car seat for Kayley at a second hand store...and she had a great time putting her baby doll in it and carrying it around...


And then Kayley decided to try it out...

This Popsicle in the bathtub idea was great! This was so much better than getting Popsicle all over the carpet...

Our First Family Photo

So...here is our attempt at a family photo. It was challenging. It was hot outside. And we couldn't get everybody to smile and look the same direction at the same time... Some turned out cute, and here they are:

Our trip to Virgina

In May we took a vacation to Virginia to see my parents. Kayley and I went out a few days ahead of James and spent some time with "Granma" and "Papa". When James got there we made the trip to the tourist trap. It was insane. We chose to visit during the "Rolling Thunder" biker weekend. There were thousands and thousands of motorcycles! It was crazy.

My parents waited with Kayley while James and I tromped up the steps into Lincoln memorial. Kayley did so well. Were were downtown ALL day and she was such a trooper. She rode in the stroller for hours and hours...

I don't remember where we are here? I do seem to remember this evil tree jumping out and wacking Papa in the forehead. It was actually pretty funny.

WATER! I had to hang on to her...Kayley was pretty sure it was a place to go swimming.

Daddy, Mommy and Kayley. We had such a great time. Kayley did NOT want to come home. (Neither did Mommy).

What's inside that camera anyways? Kayley was blinded for about 2 hours after this...hehe.
