Remembering Gracie...

I wanted to post something today, so I decided to post a memory. Enjoy!

James and I had been married a year or so when we got Gracie. We thought he was a girl, but he did turn out to be a boy... Unfortunately, he just ended up being a boy named Gracie. He was an AWESOME kitty. He never scratched the furniture, he didn't play rough, and he was always sweet and loving...

I used to use Mrs. Butterworths Syrup to stick bows on Kayley's head. I had to watch though, because Gracie would lick it off!

Kayley and Gracie got along great. Gracie did not jump in the crib and did not bother Kayley... Here they are sleeping together on the couch...

Gracie checking to make sure Kayley is good to go...

A couple of days after Christmas Gracie managed to slip out of the house. He was gone for several weeks and we figured we would never see him again...
After 3 weeks I found him again, quite by accident, right in front of our house... He was so skinny and very cranky. I brought him in the house where he promptly bit James on the foot. I was so sad to lose my kitty, but we could not take the chance that he would bite the baby so we kept him in the garage overnight and took him to a no-kill shelter the next day explaining what happened. The worker there was very kind and told us we made the right decision and that he could be rehabilitated but would probably need to be around adults and older children.
I watched the adoption list at the shelter everyday and saw that he was adopted about 1 week later. I hope whatever family he is with now loves him as much as we did. We miss our kitty!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Feb 3rd is my Moms birthday. I'll never tell how old she is...mainly because I don't remember. But, that is not important right now.
Basically, I wanted to share that my mom is the best Mom in the whole world. And I'm not just saying that! It's true!
Enjoy these photos of my Mom... Happy Birthday Mom (and Grandma) You are THE BEST! We LOVE you!

Me & my Mom... We are cute huh?

I had to throw in this picture showing my mothers big bangs.
Those were actually very cool back then. That's me n' my bro sitting with Mom on a rock.

Me and Mom at our Mother/Daughter Disney World trip. Seriously, Mom, WHEN can we do this again? (Of course we can bring Kayley)

Here we are standing in front of Westminster Abbey in London, England.
We have been a lot of cool places...

Mom and Kayley. Kayley was only 6 weeks old in this pic.

She really enjoys being a Grandma and takes her role very seriously by spoiling Kayley silly.

Here we are stuffed into Kayley's inflatable swimming pool. Yeah, don't ask.

Good times.

Family Home Evening....

Tonight for Family Home Evening we learned about Noah's Ark. For fun we took a small tub and told Kayley that it was an Ark and we needed to fill it with as many animals as she could find. She had a blast! Who knew that something so simple could be so fun?

Adding Grover to the Ark.
I'm unclear on whether Grover is technically an animal?
Here comes Curious George!

Looking pretty good...

Adding Elmo to the Ark. Does anybody know what kind of animal Elmo is??

Adding Dumbo to the Ark.

Here is the Ark after it was filled with animals! I'm not sure at what point Mike Wazowski became an animal?

We finished up the evening with a cup of chocolate pudding!

My Pizza

Ok, so I made this pizza from scratch! Or mostly scratch... ok, so the crust was a box-mix, but it turned out so good! I had never made my own pizza before but I think we are hooked. NO more frozen pizzas for us! YUMMY! Even Kayley ate a slice and she is HARD to please.

Kayley is such a diva...

Yes, she had to wear the tiara again while we ran errands on Saturday... With her sunglasses on she looks like a little diva...
