Oh, Costco. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... Maybe it is your low prices on bulk items... Maybe it is your extra wide shopping carts... Maybe it is all the free samples Maybe it is your deflicted check-out procedures... No... more likely it is the ginormous Hebrew National hotdog with a drink for only a 1.50 at the snack bar.... Yes...that is probably it.
YUM. Costco...I will miss you when we move to Missouri. We will have to switch back to Sam's Club. Adieu, Auf Weidersehen...parting is such sweet sorrow.
I have been doing a LOT of cleaning getting ready for the movers. (Only 20 more days!). A couple days ago I cleaned out a tub full of scrapbooking stuff. (I went through a phase where I was pretty sure I wanted to scrapbook and after about 3 months of scrapping, realized that I didn't actually enjoy it. So, I packed everything up and forgot about it.) Anyhow...in the midst of all my scrap stuff I found a disk. All it said on it was, "Kayley." I thought, "Wow! What is it...?" It was full of photos from Mary's camera. Pictures taken of Kayley during the 2 weeks after placement in Colorado while we were waiting for ICPC to clear. So, I thought for our flashback today I'd post some of these...because they are never-before-seen photos! Enjoy!
I often get discouraged. Sometimes, in my quest to find our next child I lose sight of the things that are REALLY important. Like: It doesn't matter how many we are...we are a family.
I love my family of 3. And that's a magic number.
Three is a magic number, Yes it is, it's a magic number. Somewhere in the ancient, mystic trinity You get three as a magic number.
The past and the present and the future. Faith and Hope and Charity, The heart and the brain and the body Give you three as a magic number.
A man and a woman had a little baby, Yes, they did. They had three in the family, And that's a magic number.
It's been a long tough summer. It is so hot that we are always struggling to find something interesting (and inexpensive) to do. Since we had a TON of tokens left over from Kayley's ChuckE.Cheese birthday party, we thought we'd head over there at 10am to play for a bit! It was so nice...all the big kids are back to school so it was nice and quiet. There were 4 other kids there, all about Kayley's age. We just played and played, ordered a single pizza and a drink, and then headed for home! All for 10 bucks! Yay! Cheap fun!
Kayley won some tickets!
Kayley took this self-portrait of us! It was deserted in the dining room when we went in to watch ChuckECheese and eat some pizza.Afterward we cashed in our tickets. Actually we fed them to the ticket muncher...it makes crunching noises while it eats your tickets.
Then we cashed in our tickets for a couple of prizes at the ticket counter...
We had a great time! Not bad for cheap entertainment!
My Dad at the Tower of London in England. He is so silly. He is wearing one of those boxes that play the recorded message for whatever you are looking at. Only...I think he is using it to scope out the horizon. I love my parents. They are so fun.
James checks in on Kayley every night before we go to bed. (I used to do it, but I almost always managed to wake her up? Don't know how, must be some 6th Mommy-sense that Kayley would think it was time to wake up...) Anyway, usually she is upside down and has no covers on....so he flips her around and covers her up. Well a couple of nights ago he walked in and found Kayley sleeping like this. Really...how can anybody sleep hanging off the edge of the bed? =)
Of course, out of all the things she could be doing in the splash pad...she stops to pick up leaves, grass, dirt and who knows what and brings it over to show us. Silly girl...just go play in the water like the other kids! =)
I have been listing some things on eBay so I have left my camera lying around again over the last 2 days. When I uploaded my pictures here are some funny photos I found that Kayley took of herself. It is funny...she always gets a hold of the camera when her hair is at her scraggliest. =) But, what can you do? She has become fiercely independent and takes her hair down as soon as we get home. I think she is actually standing on her head off the couch in this first picture (one of her new favorite past times).
Cute toes. Yes, her 3rd toe is longer than her 2nd and her poor toenails are always broken from toe-stubbing. We keep them short, but they are just fragile nails.
Since the Zoo opened a new splash park called Yakulla Caverns, this little splash pad hasn't seen much traffic. When we headed to the zoo this morning I thought to grab Kayleys swimsuit and a towel just in case. We were glad when we needed the extra 30 minutes rest time to let Kayley play (for the story on that...read the next posting). Enjoy these pics I snapped of Kayley enjoying her water play.
