Holiday Pictures!!!

We got our Holiday Photos taken today! It is SO hard to choose!!!!

Shamrock Farms

Today we went on another Family adventure! We drove out to Maricopa, Arizona to visit Shamrock Farms! A real working dairy farm!

It was very dry and dusty out in the Southwestern part of the desert! It was also VeRy windy!
We saw a LOT of cows on the way to Shamrock Farms.

Here we are drinking our Sharmrock Farms chocolate milk! We are waiting to go on the tour!!

While we waited, Kayley stopped to churn some butter.

Then we took our picture with Roxy, the spokes-cow.

We finally got on the tram for our tour. It was SO windy and the dust was blowing SO badly!

On our way out to meet the cows! There were over 10,000 cows in the herd...they are all milked twice a day, seven days a week! They can milk 200 cows at a time!
The "Kitchen." Here is where they whip up the gourmet cow food!

At the Shamrock Farms play ground. We stopped here halfway through our tour for a break. Here is Kayley driving the milk truck.

Ok, so they had these things that you could stick your finger in to feel what it is like to be "milked." Yes, it was kind of weird.

Playing in the giant cottage cheese.

Toward the end we were able to play in the "Cow Kindergarten" where we could pet calves. We had to wear gloves because they were still babies and we didn't want to give them germs.
They liked to lick our gloves it was very slobbery.

It was really fun and interesting!

Gentle Giants - Giraffes!

We went to the next in our series of Zoo Preschool activities. This one was called, Gentle Giants -Giraffes. We waited on the bridge again, but we were sad this time that we didn't get to feed the turtles and ducks... Here is Kayley looking forlornly over the railing...sigh...no duck or turtle food today...

Playing at the Sand Table. Kayley got in trouble and had to go to time out during this activity for throwing sand at another little girl.

This is how they get the food up to the Giraffes! The put the food buckets on a system of pullies and raise it high up into the air!

Then we got to go to the Giraffe barn and feed them carrots! Here is Kayley feeding a giraffe!

Kayley wanted me to take a picture of this particular kind of Giraffe food. It is Hay!

Afterward we rode the carousel...

Kayley likes to sit on the inside so she can watch herself go up and down and up and down...

I cannot believe that I forgot to turn the camera the right way again! Arrrgh!
I thought you might enjoy this video of Kayley on the Carousel anyway, even though it's on its side... I love to hear her giggles!

Kayley's Bow Holder

Grandma made this cute little bow holder for all of Kayley's hairbows. It is a tutu! Once I started putting bows on it it ended up kind of looking like a bush! Maybe we have too many hairbows??
