National Mall - Smithsonian Day #2

So, if you didn't know already...(you probably did) the Smithsonian isn't just one big museum.  It is at least 5 or 6 really big museums!  So, on the the other day we headed to the Museum of American History and Museum of Natural History.
 At American History we saw:

The infamous segregation lunch counter from the Woolworth's sit-in

Kayley

The original muppets!

Fonzie's Jacket, Minnie Pearls hat...

Archie Bunkers chair...

Abe Lincoln's hat...

Kayley saying "I am NOT a crook."

Wheee...

The Tucker...

Julia Childs' Kitchen...

Jar-Jar Binks...

We went to the Natural History Museum and looked for all the Night at the Museum Characters...but we couldn't find them.

But we did see:  The Hope Diamond!  Watch out!  It's cursed!

Kayley touched a piece of Mars.

It was a lot of walking that day too.
Oh! And it was really, really neat to run across Kristin and Justin who were in D.C. to run the marathon.  What a small world to run across old friends in an unlikely place!  I wish things had worked out better that we could've spent some time together!!

  1. Me too! What a small world! It would have been fun to sit down and catch up more in person! We were in a kind of crazy mode and a little crowded there in the Smithsonian!!! Crazy!! Good to see you in person though for the few minutes! :)
