Sand & Water Table

I found this sand and water table at a thrift store for only 5 bucks. We bought a bag of sand and it has been providing hours of entertainment for Kayley. She keeps trying to swim in it.
Fun fun fun!

I love to see the Temple!

Here is a cute little project that the kids "made" in Nursery yesterday. I'd say they had a LOT of help. =) The picture is from our Primary Activity at the Temple a few weeks ago...

Early Easter

Since next week is General Conference and the week after that we are traveling to Missouri, we decided to day was the day for Kayley to wear her Easter dress. Here are some cute pics...

We are taking this dress with us to Missouri and plan on getting some other pictures hunting Easter Eggs, but I figured today was still a good day to catch some pics anyway.

Funny Girl

Today we went to the mall and as we were leaving I pulled out in front of somebody who was going too fast! It startled me, I didn't realize that he was going so fast! Anyway, he switched lanes quickly and zoomed around us. I yelped! "Whew! Mommy almost had an accident!"
To which Kayley responded, "Kayley almost had an accident too!"
Aaahhh... funny girl. Not THAT kind of accident...

Butterfly Pavilion

Today James had the morning off and we decided to see if we could get into the new Butterfly Pavilion at the Botanical Gardens...Here are some pics from our fun morning.

Of course, James is excited because they gave us a "Butterfly Identification Chart."

Look, a butterfly landed on mommy!

Taking a break.

This should be on the Butterfly Pavilion brochure...

She thought the butterfly was really cool, until he refused to fly away. Then she got frustrated.

And since we were at the Gardens, we were able to see Chihuli by day. It was very colorful.

Kayley goes to the Dentist!

Today was Kayley's first trip to the Dentist! It went just great. The office was gorgeous and very clean and everyone was awesome and friendly.

Here she is in the waiting room waiting for her turn. They had a nice little kid-sized corner with a small TV playing Madagascar and several books and Highlights magazines.

Kayley was pretty intrigued by this plant they had in the waiting room.

Kayley in the dentist chair. She didn't like it. She looks worried doesn't she? In the end the technician said I could sit in the chair and have Kayley sit on my lap. That worked out much, much better.
Cheese! Kayley was so cooperative that the technician even managed to get 2 X-rays of Kayley's teeth! She let the dentist look over all her teeth top and bottom. No cavities!

While we waited between the Dental Tech and the Dentist, we snapped this photo of this evil-looking jack rabbit on the wall. What is it with us and evil looking bunnies?

They also gave Kayley this neat project to work on while we waited. It was a picture of an empty Dentist office, then they gave Kayley a huge sticker page to create her own Dental Office!
Thanks to the Tech who snapped this photo of us.
In the end, Kayley also got her picture taken by the dentist and it is hanging on the "Cavity Free" wall. She also got to pick a special prize out of the Treasure Chest for being so brave.

I really thought this was a nice touch. We received this letter in the mail about 4 days before our appointment. You can click on it to make it bigger.
Kayley's Sticker Creation...

Anyway, just in case you were wondering, it is recommended that your children start seeing a dentist at 2yrs old-ish or when they have their teeth. Kayley is supposed to go on a regular annual rotation now just like another adult or child. We went to Four Peaks Family Dentistry located in Old Town Scottsdale, just in case you wanted to go there, and YES, I totally recommend them!

Festival of the West

Today we went and checked out Scottsdale's Festival of the West. It was really pretty neat. Kind of like Renaissance Festival only West instead of Renaissance. If that makes sense? Anyway, part of it was in a really big hangar-sized tent and I didn't really get any pics inside. Another part of it was outside. They had chuck-wagon cookoffs, vendors and all kinds of other displays.

This poor guy, who looks suspiciously like Colonel Sanders, took an arrow though the top of his head. Poor poor man.

A nice gentleman at a Log Home booth thought Kayley was pretty cute and gave her a "Wally-pop". This kept her happy for a really long time.

Here we are! I actually tipped over and skinned my arm on the wall during this little photo shoot. Ouch! Kayley too this photo...

We petted this ginormous horse. I mean, that is a big horse!

And then Kayley got to ride some mini-ponies. Her first time, she thought it was neat!

On Daddy's shoulders.

I handed her the Wallypop up there. Daddy's head got all sticky. (hehehe) It's like that time he gave her an ice cream cone while I carried her in the back-pack carrier...

A tipi!

Barrel Racing.
