The Longest Walk

Everytime we leave our little apartment we take what I always call "The Longest Walk." It takes probably 10 minutes to walk the 200 feet from our apartment door to the car.

First, Kayley usually has to stop and pick a dandelion or two...
Then we have to examine them closely for bugs or other "carey-pooky" creatures...

If they are bug-free then we have to blow their fluffies all over the place...

After that we have to stop and pick up some rocks...or sometimes a stick...

Then we drag the handful of rocks with us to the end of the sidewalk...where we throw them back down into another special rock-pile.

Then we have to stop and make the jump off of the curb....if we forget, or don't do it just right, we have to climb back up and jump again...From there we rush to the speed bump in the parking lot and walk on it and then jump off of the end of it...

At least at this point you can finally see the car...
Once you arrive at the car, you have to convince her to empty her hands of anything else she picked up along the Longest Walk before you can put her into her car seat... It is a pretty long trip and we have to factor the extra 10 minutes into where ever we are going... Funny though.

Kayley's Photography

I don't know how many of your remember the last picture that Kayley took of me and James at Denny's...but it was pretty good. Every now and then I let Kayley roam around and take some photo's. I think she is improving quite remarkably. Kayley took these photos with NO help!

The Indoor Playground

Since Grandma has been visiting, we have been trying to just have as much fun as possible. Earlier this week we took Kayley to a large indoor playground. Here she is getting up close and personal with a "Sam-A-Lander." (As Kayley calls it).

Going down the slide...

Self-Portrait. Kayley, Mommy and Grandma.

Dandelions

Right now the dandelions are dying and turning into those fluffy tops that most people don't enjoy. Kayley, on the other hand, loves them. She looks all over for them, rushes over to pick them, so she can blow their fluffies all over the place...

Shopping with Mommy n' Grandma

There is so much to see when we go shopping. We opted to go to one of the largest malls in the area. It is huge and there is a LOT to do. Here is Kayley playing with the doggy in the window.
They have a Rainforest Cafe. The food is terrible and expensive, but we split an appetizer 3 ways just for the sake of going inside so Kayley could look around.
We sat right by the elephants. It thunderstormed twice while we were in there. Kayley thought it was very interesting and she just loooked and loooooked and looked.

Afterward we dug in our bags for some quarters so Kayley could ride the machines. We lost a 1.50 in broken ones, but we sat in them anyway and pretended like they were working...
Here is Kayley driving a racecar! Zooom!

As you can tell she had a "blast"!

Look out!

Choo Choooo!

Driving the "Scary Snort!"

Fun!

Chipotle Baby-burrito

We really like Chipotle burritos but we haven't been very often since they really don't have anything that is Baby-friendly. Today we asked them what they could make for Kayley and they made her the cutest little, mini-burrito...
She really liked it and ate quite a bit of it. They wrapped it up, just like the real thing...

Boo at the Zoo...

Today we went to the Boo at the Zoo! It was a great time to wear our Halloween costume, get some free stuff, and see the animals.
In case you can't tell, Kayley is Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.
Yes, that really is Toto in the Basket.
Looking at the baby orangutan...

In the Pumpkin Patch...

Fun with Granma!

Granma came to visit this week. It is so fun to have her here! Kayley especially enjoys having Granma to play with. She loaded up Grandma's shopping cart, and Kayley loaded up her stroller and they went around...and around...and around....
and around some more....

and around some more....

Here they are going around and around...I'm sorry I couldn't figure out how to flip the video over, but you get the idea...

Kayley's Pumpkin

I was desperate for some child-free study time, since I have a major final exam this week in Anatomy and Physiology...so I took Kayley to a drop in childcare in the local area. It was great. She had so much fun! They decorated pumpkins and got really messy!
