Trader Joe's

We like to go to Trader Joe's because they have these cute little kid-sized shopping carts. Kayley was pushing this cart through the store and she would tell people, "S'cuze me! S'cuze me! S'cuze me dude!" She almost plowed over this poor man and I told him, "oops, sorry!" and she looked at him and said, "Sorry, dude!" It's pretty cute, but maybe I should have taught her Sir and Ma'am instead?

Yummm...we should get some of these!

Kayley enjoyed putting things in her cart.

"Ewww! Yuck~!"

Did you see the calories on this thing???

Baking Cookies...

The first time I tried to make cookies this summer, I turned on the mixer and Kayley cried because it was scary. Shows you how much I bake huh? Anyway, we are getting the hang of it and the other day we made cookies again and Kayley helped!

I made her do the dishes.... Ok, just kidding, pretty much she splashes in the sink while I bake.

Terrorizing The House

I had to spend some time in the kitchen chopping up veggies. It took a little over an hour and during that time Kayley just ran around the house playing... She would run through the kitchen, then I'd hear her in her room, then the living room, then back into the kitchen. I didn't think much of it and just kept quickly chopping veggies....
Well, when I finished in the kitchen and came around the corner, here is what greeted me in the living room! Holy Cow! I was only in the kitchen for an hour!

Another of Kayley's favorite things to do. For some reason Kayley LOVES my shoes. Every time I turn around my shoes are scattered all over the house. Here she is lining them up....

And counting them. She does pretty good, she can count to 13 now!

Kayley really likes to play with the viewmaster. Remember these things??

Dear Heavenly Father....

I really wanted to share this funny thing that happened today with Kayley.
We sat down to lunch together and got ready to say our prayers. Kayley said, "Kayley say it!"
So I agreed...
She said, "Heavenly Father... thank you for the egg....and toast....and juice....and milk....and babydoll......and mickeymouse....and sandals....and shoes.....and pizza......and elmo.......and scissors....and ketchup....and blanket............."
At this point I was giggling so hard that she gave me the stink eye....

Then she continued....
"Jesus name.....Amen!"

"Again!!!!???" she said.

"Ok" I agreed.....

We repeated this prayer with a few differences about 8 times. It was pretty cute... At the end of each she would say, "Amen! Again???" And we'd start over and do it again. I eventually cut her off because my lunch was getting cold.

Babysitting...

Hallie...

Marisa...

Kayley did really well with Marisa, she played with her...

And then just ignored her...

Spaghetti... which has nothing to do with babysitting, but was a cute picture.

No words necessary....

I was at the kitchen table when I heard Kayley saying, "Heart! Heart" and "Thump thump!!"
Here is what I found.... What can I say?

To Shelley

Someone asked me the other day what "studio" we used to get our professional family photos done earlier this summer. I was horrified when I realized that I had been remiss in not mentioning that my dear friend Shelley took these photo's for us as a favor.

I'm sorry that I did not mention this much sooner. They turned out positively fabulous and we were so grateful since we really couldn't have afforded a studio sitting. She did such a wonderful job for us and we are so thankful.

THANK YOU SHELLEY!!!!!!!!

As for Shelley, sadly, I don't think she is for hire but I can always ask. =)

Running with Scissors (and much, much more!)

And who said scissors were for ages four and up? We are very advanced at our house...

Mommy is pretty creative...here is what she made with her scissors... Matching hats!

And paper dolls!
Ring around the rosies..

Kayley taking a nap hobo-style...

It got to cold for Kayley to sleep like a hobo...so I built her a tent...

The tent was fun!

Harmony Farms

We went to Harmony Farms this morning. It is part of the Phoenix Zoo. It is a large petting zoo area for children with some interactive farm "stuff." It was hot, but it was fun too!

Here is Kayley checking out the Wallaby. She saw that thing and said, "Bunny!!"

Kayley in the Wallaby's Pouch...

Playing in the enormous Prairie Dog tunnel...

Look! Pinecones!

Petting the goats...Kayley enjoyed smacking them on the rump...

Staring at them...she was saying, "Come'ere! Cooomee'ereee!"

She smacked a couple on the head too...

She gave this one a hug...although I think he was trying to get away....

Come here you crazy goat and give me a hug!!

Whoa...this one is kind of big...but she tried to give him a hug too...

Awwww...hug the little goat....

She pulled on this goats ears... These poor little goats..they were so patient with the kids. This goat just looks like he is saying, "Oh...not the ears again..."

We washed our hands after...

A bull. "Cooomeee'eere" she kept saying...

Riding the tire rocking horse.

Driving the tractor... this one was too big.

Trying to pet a rooster...

What is THAT!

It's an EGG!

A ladybug!!

A Worm!

Run! This looks so much better!

Riding a tractor that is just the right size...

Riding a horse in the corral...
