We went to a special program at the zoo called "OcTOADerfest." It was a breakfast program for kids aged 2-5. It is a preschool-type program that changes monthly. This time it was about Frogs. We met outside on the bridge before the zoo opened...

They gave the kids "turtle food" to feed the turtles in the water and "doggie food" to feed the ducks too.. Here is Kayley holding her turtle food.

At the OcToaderfest program they had different stations for the kids to rotate through. They learned about amphibians. Here is Kayley getting drenched at the water table full of small (plastic) frogs.

Here is Kayley trying out her "Froggy Tongue." The kids used it to try and pick up small plastic beetles... It was not very effective.

For participating in OctToaderfest we got a free spin on the carousel. Here is a self portrait of me and Kayley on the carousel...

Afterward we walked around the zoo for a while... and then went home. It was a lot of fun. We have already made plans to go next month for the "Gentle Giants -- Giraffes" series.

  1. I really like the Halloween bow in her hair.
She sure is a cutie when she's all put together.
